Aghogho "Hanujay" Agbodje is a Lagos based versatile musical artiste that cannot be specifically boxed into any genre, although certain definitions might align him to afropop/afrofusion, His vibrations transcends boundaries.

Born in Warri, Delta State about 28years ago, traditional schooling at the Delta State University, Abraka, Delta State, Nigeria didnʼt really ring true for him until he decided to attend the Tenstrings Music Institute in Lagos, Nigeria where Hanu Jay truly found his calling.

Heavily influenced by the generic sounds of Lagos from Ajegunle to Festac, Hanu Jay began to coin his own identity. He started honing & exploring his talents, he received tutorship from Jesse Jagz, Bez and HarrySongz while in music school where he also learnt how to play musical instruments.

Before then, Hanu Jay was making his mark at the underground hiphop scene scoring hooks for Yung6ix, Yung Hanz and the likes.

In April 2017, Hanu Jay released his first commercial single "No Smoking Zone" to warm reviews and acceptance, he followed up months later with a single titled "Good Love” featuring Ycee.

In 2018, He dropped his debut EP "Vibes" with Lead Singles, "Dodo" feat. Yung 6ix and "Fine Wine". In 2019, he dropped his sophomore EP titled ”L,S&M”, more recently, his 2020 Extended playlist titled ”Lagos Taught Me” rippled and trended on Digital streaming Platforms like Audiomack.

In 2020, Ace Nigerian Dee Jay Consequence featured Hanu Jay on his “Vibes From The future” project, touted as a compilation of the next afrobeats stars. This was off the back of rave singles “Magic” and his timely collaboration with the Zanku President, Zlatan Ibile on “No Dey”, a potent street anthem.

With several singles and two EPs under his belt, Hanu Jay plans to take over as the next huge Afrofusion star in 2021 with stellar collaborations and a couple of forthcoming projects.
